I woke this morning (slept this morning anyway) to the news of my number one footballer in the world Thierry Henry (Sorry Messi) announcing his retirement from football. The news kind of took me by surprise in a way but i gotta admit that i haven't been checking up on him lately. During his days at Arsenal,Thierry Henry was absolutely phenomenal with his knack for finishing in the box, Titi could always find a way to slot the ball beyond the goalkeeper. by the time he left Arsenal he was undisputably Arsenal's greatest ever player with over 226 goals in 338 appearances for the Gunners.
Titi's exploits in front of goal was absolutely phenomenal particularly scoring at will (and he sure knew how to celebrate the goals, an art that's kind of lost on today's top strikers)
Titi's accomplishments includes winning the FIFA 1998 World Cup, The European Cup, 2 English Premier league Trophies, three FA Cups, the La Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League, The FIFA Club World Cup, Spanish Supercup and European Supercup. Henry was also part of the Pep Guardiola Barca team that went on to win all the six major trophies in 2009.
His exploits with unbeaten "The Invincibles" team of the 2003/2004 English Premiership League season would forever be remembered by all Arsenal fans. I dropped a couple of videos of the great below for fans that want to take a little trip down memory lane.
