Music is by far my biggest passion, heck i should have been a artist. I find myself listening to sometime at every point in time. It builds me up, helps me pass time and i find it a potent motivator. The list below basically sums up my best songs of 2014. i tried to limited it to the songs that i heard for the first time in 2014. the list is by no means exhaustive and follows no particular order.
THE MAN - ALOE BLACC
Immense power is acquired by assuring yourself in your secret reveries that you were born to control things. And no song today epitomizes that more than The man by Aloe Blacc. This is definitely my feel good song for the year, i mean God made my mould different from the rest then he broke that mould so i know am blessed. Ofcourse i am THE MAN
0 TO 100 - DRAKE
Drake has been on the roll so much that this time in music (Hip Hop) is referred to in some circles as the Drake era. 0 to 100 adds more credence to such claim, 0 to 100 really caught on, and has became a catchphrase used by teens and the young at heart.
LOYAL - CHRIS BROWN FT LIL WAYNE AND TYGA
In my opinion, this song should be the song of the year in any award show. Chris Brown certainly doesn't let his the troubles of his personal life stop him from making amazing songs. Loyal was a huge hit, and spurred one of the most widely used phrases that even found it's way to the pulpit.
HOT NI**A - BOBBY SHMURDA
Hot ni**a/boy was the breakthrough hit of the year and landed Bobby Shmurda a record deal. Bobby Shmurda showed what one could do with a recycled beat and an infectious dance. The song wasn't really about lyricism rather that feel good moment.
LOVE ME HARDER - ARIANNA GRANDE AND THE WEEKND
The Weeknd is by far my best artist of 2014, having listened to his discography i can say that this dude from Canada CAN NOT make a bad song. he is falsetto voice is incredible and seen him dominate just about every song he has been featured on till the point it pretty much feels like he was the lead artist. In this duet, The Weeknd finds a natural match with Arianna Grande whose vocal range really resonates with the underlying theme of the song.
SANCTIFIED - RICK ROSS FT BIG SEAN AND KANYE WEST
IDFWU - BIG SEAN FT E-40
DON'T TELL 'EM - JEREMIH FT YG
POMPEII - BASTILLE
MOVE THAT DOPE - FUTURE FT PUSHA T, PHARRELL, CASHINO
Check my Top 2014 songs playlist below, The list is not exhaustive and i would be adding more songs to the list
