Pastor Rodney Willis has been let go from the Mt. Salem Baptist Church for attending a Rick Ross concert. Pastor Willis until his firing was the youngest ever Pastor to be installed after being ordained at 26 years and had served the 109 year old church for 4 years.
The Pastor had been voted out by a council of deacons after he had attended a local Rick Ross concert. The council of deacons, which included his uncle, voted 11 to 3 to fire the young Reverend.
The young Reverend had previously come under fire for attending a Lil Wayne concert nine months ago.
According to Deacon Langley, this is not the first time Rev. Wills has attended a concert while pastoring Mt. Salem. 9 months ago the diaconate board met with Rev. Wills when word was given to them that many youth and young adults spotted the pastor at a lil wayne concert.
“We know that many saints will have mixed opinions from our actions, but this is not how we do things here at Mt. Salem. We cannot have a pastor praising the world one minute then praising the Lord the next. Period” said Deacon Langley.

What's your take on this issue, Was the church right for firing the Pastor?. Personally I think they were totally tight for doing, the Pastor's action contradicts the message of Christianity. We all know the type of message the likes of Lil Wayne and Rick Ross represent with their steady stream of lyrics that glorify violence, sex, drug use and so on. All of which Christianity stands against.
The Bible speaks against such duality in character in Matthew 6:24

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Don't be a hypocrite!!!
