2018/2019 UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP STAGE DRAWS

By
The Draws of the 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League were held yesterday at Nyon in addition to the UEFA Best players awards in which members of the UEFA Champions justifiably swept away.

The Top prize of the night, The UEFA Best player, went to Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric who also took home the Best midfielder of the year award. The awards for the Goalkeeper of the year and Defender of the year went to Keylor Navas and Sergio Ramos, while the forward of the year went to ex-Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo, who was noticeably absent from the event.

This year's Champions League draws sees Tottenham having to navigate yet another Spanish giant in the form of Barcelona after having to face Real Madrid last season in Group B which also has Italian giants Inter Milan and PSV. Liverpool ended up with arguably the toughest and most exciting group with PSG and Napoli all drawn in the same group as the merseyside club.

English Champions Manchester City were the luckiest of the English sides having drawn Shakhtar Donestk who they faced last year in addition to Lyon and Hoffenheim. While their neighbours, Manchester United are drawn in Group H along with Juventus, Valencia and Young Boys. While it looks like a group that Manchester United could easily progress from, the recent troubles at Old Trafford could make that a herculanuem task. Manchester United fans could be in for a treat with the prospect of Cristiano Ronaldo making his way back to Old Trafford for their clash with Italian champions Juventus.
